Ashley graduated from the 3000 hour RMT program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in December 2012. She spent the first half of her career practicing in BC, and in recent years, Alberta. Her formal training equipped her to treat a variety or orthopaedic concerns, such as postural dysfunction, repetitive strain injuries, sprains, nerve impingement syndromes, and plantar fasciitis. She was also trained to address many systemic conditions ranging from headaches and migraines, to circulatory issues and prenatal care. She has since continued her education in the treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) dysfunction, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and Sacroiliac Joint Alignment. Before moving back to Calgary Ashley had the pleasure of teaching at the very same college she graduated from herself.
After years of working with clients of all ages, with varying conditions, Ashley could not deny that there is so much more to the healing process than the body alone. So after nearly a decade of developing her massage therapy techniques, she decided to expand her skill set to include Reiki, an energy healing modality. Integrating energy work into her practice not only affirmed her beliefs around the mind body connection, it took her treatments to the next level. Reiki helps to correct the mental, emotional, and spiritual imbalances that can often interfere with the healing process. Prior to the addition of Reiki she could see these blocks getting in the way of recovery, but could not yet address them effectively. Having these tools to help her clients reach optimal wellness on all levels has only deepened her respect for this work. Her approach is one that encourages balance for the mind, body, and spirit.
